A matched pair of Anthem components — the TLP-1 stereo preamplifier/tuner and PVA 2 stereo power amplifier. Anthem is a division of Paradigm, designed and built in Canada, and these are genuinely well-regarded pieces of kit that punch well above their price class. Both units are in excellent condition and fully functional.
The TLP-1 is a full-featured stereo preamplifier with a built-in AM/FM tuner, five line-level inputs, phono stage, tone controls, balance, and a learning remote. It's not a stripped-down budget piece — reviewers consistently noted it competed with preamps costing two to three times as much.
The PVA 2 is the natural partner for it, a serious two-channel power amplifier built around a custom toroidal transformer with Anthem's Advanced Load Monitoring protection circuitry. It runs cool, sounds clean, and will drive almost anything you throw at it.
Specs:
TLP-1: frequency response 1Hz–120kHz, THD 0.005%, S/N ratio 100dB, output impedance 300 ohms, includes remote
PVA 2: 105 watts per channel into 8 ohms, 140 watts into 4 ohms, S/N ratio 122dB, damping factor 200, Class AB with 12V trigger input/output and auto on/off
This is a proper separates system that will outperform any receiver in its price range. Perfect for a two-channel music setup or as the foundation of a home theater. Happy to demo before you buy.
